Suzanne Tamaki - Fibre Artist
Tutina Pasene™ has been able to access the expertise of Native Sista to create accessories for their garments.

Suzanne Tamaki of Maniapoto, Tuhoe and Te Arawa descent is an Otaki based fibre artist and founded the label Native Sista. Suzanne was also a founding member of the Pacific Sisters fashion collective in the mid 1990's. Suzanne has a strong art & design background, creating body adornment, costumes and jewellery inspired by legends and mythical creatures in the Pacific.

Her work is exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally. She has produced, directed and coordinated several highly successful fashion events in Auckland and Wellington since 1992 and most recently at the 6th Pacific Festival of the Arts in Belau. She has won a number of fashion and design awards throughout New Zealand and is a registered user of the Toi Iho Trademark of quality.

Toi Iho
toi iho™ is a registered trade mark used to promote and sell authentic, quality Maori arts and crafts

toi iho™ has also been designed to authenticate exhibitions and performances of Maori arts by Maori artists. The creation of the mark was facilitated by Te Waka Toi, the Maori arts board of Creative New Zealand, in consultation with Maori artists.

The toi iho™ maori co-production mark acknowledges the growth of innovative, collaborative ventures between Maori and non-Maori.

This companion mark is for Maori artists who create works with persons of non-Maori descent to produce, present or perform works across artforms.

Rerehau - Artist
Rerehau is a graduate of the immersion Maori education system established by his fathers generation to halt the decline and death of the Maori language He studied towards the Diploma of Maori Art & Design at Te Wananga o Raukawa and received his Diploma at age 15 and went on to pursue the Bachelor of Maori Art & Design.

Rerehau now displays his work at Te Papa and Kura Gallery in Wellington and Auckland, Pataka Gallery in Porirua, Lush Gallery Auckland, Pounamu Promotions gallery based in Blenheim, Te Wananga o Raukawa, Otaki and at the 2004 National Maori Business Exhibition, Otaki. Rerehau also works with his family to establishment a set of whanau based businesses.
